Printronix ribbons here are genuine Printronix products, sold in black. Part number 255048-402 is rated at 30,000 pages each, and part number 255049-402 is rated at 17,000 pages each, so you can match the ribbon to how much you print.
Genuine Printronix ribbons
Both ribbons in this range are genuine Printronix items. They come straight from the printer brand, so there is no question about who made them. Each one is black, which suits the text, barcodes and forms that line printers usually produce.
Page yields by part number
The two part numbers differ mainly in how long they last. Compare them side by side:
- 255048-402: black ribbon, 30,000 pages each
- 255049-402: black ribbon, 17,000 pages each
If your printer runs all day, the higher yield of 255048-402 means fewer ribbon changes. If your volume is lighter, 255049-402 still gives a solid run of 17,000 pages each.
Choosing the right ribbon
Check the part number on the ribbon you are using now, or in your printer manual, and pick the one that matches. Ribbons are the only product type in this range, and every item is a genuine OEM ribbon, so there is no mix of genuine and aftermarket to sort through.
